Summary: Art Deco / Modernist Georg Jensen sterling silver sugar nips (tongs), the 1930’s mechanical design consists of two opposing discs that when compressed enable a scissor action to close on a cube of sugar. This design is rare as it does not have the usual stylized designs that Jensen is noted for but a more novel and “utilitarian” machine-like appearance as well as scissor action. The item is marked with the highly collectible & well coveted early hallmarks, used from 1933-1944.
